On June 1st, Jeff Saenz was involved in a terrible electrocution accident that most do not survive, after coming in contact with a downed power line. His partner Monica managed to free his hands with a broom handle and put out the flames with fire blankets ordered just days before. With their children standing by, Monica saved Jeff’s life. The extent of his injuries is still unknown. He experienced electrical burns, which have caused the amputation of his left hand and right arm. 25% of his body is affected with 3rd and 4th degree burns. After over 10 surgeries and 66 days hospitalized, Jeff was finally able to return home to continue healing there. He is the owner of Dallas-based Modern Electric Sound Recorders, a producer, engineer, father, musician, friend, motorcycle enthusiast, kombucha lover, and sole provider for his family. He has impacted the entire musical landscape of the DFW area. While it is true that he created the physical space that has helped birth so many amazing albums and songs for the better half of a decade, the space he has created far exceeds the physical location of the studio. The space is a direct reflection of Jeff’s kind, encouraging, and incredibly generous soul; It has held and blessed countless artists and friends in so many ways. The outpouring of love and support for Jeff and his family has been incredible, and is all we can do as a community to lift up this amazing man in his time of dire need.

Jeff and Monica have started a wonderful family together; with her son Jude and their daughter Lola (pictured). Then on June 17th, while he was in ICU, he popped the question! Big congratulations to the beautiful newly engaged couple.
